Meet The Founder - Our Story
I'm Emily, founder of EH Equine Transport. Horses have been a defining part of my life since I was first introduced to them at just three years old. Over the past 16 years, through hands-on experience caring for and working with horses, I've developed a deep understanding of the level of care, safety and reliability they deserve - especially when it comes to transport.
I was incredibly fortunate to grow up on the Isles of Scilly, where horses were always close by. Much of my early experience came from spending time on Tresco, helping care for and ride the horses there. Those early experiences played a huge role in shaping both my skills and my passion for equine welfare, and I'm especially grateful to have had a special, dedicated, experienced mentor through out those early years who taught me so much and more.
During my secondary school years, I lived away during the week and was fortunate to loan my first pony, who taught me a great deal and further strengthened my commitment to working with horses. In 2024, I was accepted onto the Level 2 Equine Management course at Moreton Morrell College, before processing onto the Level 3 course the following year - continuing to build both my practical skills and industry knowledge.
In 2023, I bought my own horse, Bertie. Since owning him, he has given me a first-hand insight into the realities of horse ownership, including just how important it is to have transport you can truley rely on.
The idea for EH Equine Transport came from both my lifelong experience with horses and my own challenges with transport while living on the Isles of Scilly. Coordinating ferry crossings, weather delays and mainland transport often meant everything had to align perfectly - or plans would fall apart, with added stress, time pressure and cost.
That experience is what led me to take a different approach. I invested in my own horsebox to create more control, more flexibility and ultimately more peace of mind. What began as a practical solution quickly grew into something bigger : a business built to support other horse owners facing the same challenges.
EH Equine Transport was created to provide safe, dependable, and stress-free self-drive horsebox hire for owners who want complete confidence when travelling their horses.
This isn't just about horseboxes - it's about supporting horse owners, solving real problems, and delivering the kind of reliability you shouldn't have to second guess.
